The Gabriola Local Trust Committee (LTC) has rearranged its business meeting agenda to begin the town hall and rezoning application portions of their meeting at noon in an attempt to make it easier for community members to attend their meetings.
At the end of a Jan. 29 meeting that lasted almost eight hours, trustees directed staff to set future agendas to deal with minutes and other administrative issues between 10:15 and noon, and to then move to discussion of issues that are of more interest to the public, so that issues relevant to community members can be discussed if people choose to attend the meetings during the lunch hour.
The committee has been looking at a number of ways of making it easier for Gabriolans to get to their meetings since a request to do so was made by community members during the fall of 2009. A few evening meetings have also been set for the coming year.
