The Gabriola Health Care Auxiliary has named 2010 “The Year of the Clinic” and Gabriolans have been rallying around to raise money for a proposed new Medical Clinic, which will include three emergency rooms.

March 7 is an opportunity to be hedonistic and community-minded simultaneously.

While the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announces its choices of the “best”, you can help raise funds for the Auxiliary by attending the Oscar night celebrations at the Roxy. The event is an occasion to dress as your favourite movie star, dead or alive, or as your favourite movie character or simply put on your party clothes.

“A Night with The Stars” will begin at 5 pm with a chance to have your picture taken on the red carpet. There will be previously loved movies on DVD to purchase at ridiculously low prices, door prizes, bubbly, finger foods, a silent auction and more.

Come and join the excitement and suspense as nominees and winners are shown on the Roxy’s 12 ft screen. Only 50 tickets are available at Artworks for $25.00 each, with all proceeds going to the Health Care Foundation.
