Ballerinas of Mara Brenner’s Gabriola Dance, ages two and a half years to 16, gave an enchanting afternoon performance at the Haven’s Phoenix Auditorium on Feb. 20 to the much-loved work by Emile Waldteufel’s “Skater’s Waltz”, Opus 183.

Mice, puddlers with umbrellas, penguins in bowler hats, snow fairies and Snow Queen, with a lovely voice, singing “It’s a Rainy, Rainy Day”, showed an outstanding response to their teacher’s fascinating choreography - much to the delight of family and friends attending.

After only a few years on the Island, Mara Brenner has successfully established creative dance, classical ballet, and pilates; private and group classes for all ages to seniors.

In today’s world, that the certified instructor with 20 years experience is also introducing and revisiting classical music to all age spectrums, is a wonderful thing.
