Green Wharf - Good idea for the Regional District of Nanaimo to look into taking over the Green Wharf. It needs to be preserved and maintained since it serves as a backup for the ferry.

Appreciated - Great work and great meals have been served at Susy’s. She is retiring after many years of excellent service to all of us. Happy retirement.

Bruce is also leaving his hardware store that has also served Gabriola well for many years.

Fares up - The ferry fares are all going up. The Liberals are checking the service although they are not specific about what they are doing.

There is reduced use of the ferries and although we have a ferry “committee”, that committee does not seem to have any influence in handling the increased fares. There has been a report made and given to the ferry but we don’t know what on earth the report says.

Perhaps the use will decrease again since the costs are proving a bit much for many users.

Big addition - The new buildings on North Road between South Road and Ross Way are nearly ready. It’s going to be a busy traffic area around there and walkers and cyclists will have to be very careful.
